RAC tune up kit

Post by themadness »

are any of you guys familiar with vintage(late 60s) RAC tune up kits. an old lady down the street has moved out and her kids were cleaning it out. i plundered through the left overs and the curb and picked it up. it has a compression tester, remote starter, timing light, and vac pump tester. i'm certain the stuff doesnt function like it should mechanically but appearance wise it is in great shape. there isnt much left of the box though. i wouldnt know how to test the tools to verify anything anyway.

interesting little kit though. i wonder if it has any kind of collectors value.

it is just like these.

might be neat for an engine guy to hang on the shop wall if you suspect it is not usable, but still tools that are used if the seals are not dried up and gauges aren't broken etc... i'm not sure on testing any of the gauges accuracy, unless you have a professional tool that does the same job... and you test with both and compare.
4th one's a charm, 5th one is, beginnning to sound like this is an addiction...
