White wire hanging down on drivers side?

Post by GTU89 »

Okay, i was looking at the beretta and I noticed that in the interior there is white wire that is cut off and just hanging down on the drivers side, its more towards the hood release pull, any idea of what it is? I can try to get a pic, just will have to figure out how to upload it, lol

Might be off here, but it sounds like one of the courteousy lights. They're singe wire to the socket.

The door switches are single wires not the lights...the lights have two wires, one white and one orange.

My bad. You're right. But I knew I was right about the white wire going to courteousy lights. One white wire , one orange wire, as stated. I just verified this on my Quasar GTZ's courteousy lighting.

GTU89: Correct, the under dash lighting. And yours should have it. All Beretta's do. Even my '87. If your courteousy lights aren't working, that would also indicate the white wire needs to be hooked up, or a blown fuse. I would VERIFY it's the light wire first though by locating the light socket and seeing if the white wire is broken off or missing.

If this is in fact the wire for the door switch, none of the lights courtesy lights would work when the driver door is open but still should work with the passenger door.

I cant even find the light sockets, on the drivers side both the orange and white wires are cut off and just hanging down, I think the retards who had it removed them. goddamn hillbillys, lol.

They also spray painted the dash, removed the knee panel thing under the dash on the drivers side and sharpied the dome light orange.

Its a shame because the rest of the interior is nice, the body and paint is nice and there is ZERO rust.
