My Beretta

Post by Trevor »

Some members requested a more detailed description of my Beretta, so before I left for work I took a quick video...

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pKFCGgjo91Y

I am wanting to sell this car... Unfortunately... And I hope to get what I payed for it. I think selling it here would be best because you all know what a Beretta is worth mechanically and rarity wise... This car is a head turner... And to be honest every freaking time I drive this beast on a 2 lane road, a honda pulls up beside me and revs their engine... I'm not even kidding. And I don't like to beat my vehicles, but every race I have done, I have won..

But anyways i'm getting off topic :/. This is my Beretta. Let me know what you think... If you know how I can make it run better without to much being put in to it I would appreciate it. Right now the major issue is how when idling it idles up and up and up until i tap the gas...

doesnt look too bad man! remember these are almost classics... things do break... if you love it, just keep it going and when you have extra time and money, work on it.

start with a general tune up... new spark plugs etc... seafoam treatment to clean the carbon out, possibly some new sensors. others should chime in with their experiences with the rising idle speed... i'm not sure.

4th one's a charm, 5th one is, beginnning to sound like this is an addiction...

I've done the Seafoam, Injector cleaner, Spark Plugs ( I had to helicoil a spark plug soon after I got the car :/) I replaced the 02 sensor. I had to replace the.. temperature sensor, the EGR, the air filter was horrid. And it used to idle to low, so I kept idling it up, and it would idle back down, and now it's to the point where I can't adjust the idle anymore.

I've done nothing but repair what's wrong with it. The front end was messed up by the previous owner, and while at school wonderful people hit my spoiler for no apparent reason, so I super glued a piece on haha. I've spray painted numerous spots on the car, you may notice because I didn't do a perfect job :D. And I almost killed a friend of mine when he broke the passenger side door handle on the Beretta.... First on my Ford (Well that's okay) but the Beretta? Hell no haha.

There is an "almost perfect" Quazar GTZ bumper cover in the yard here, but it would cost a fortune to ship it :( Nice car thought :)

This car is now up for sale.... $1,000. I didn't know what else to price it at, and I am not sure what it's worth in it's current condition. It would be really great if you could all give me your input on the pricing, to high, or to low. And if you are interested in it I can take any picture you need me to and take videos.

The motor sounds like it's knocking, and there is ticking. Plus it has a miss. But it keeps running somehow, and always makes it point a to point b. I just don't have the mechanical smarts to work on it!

I'm a little less busy this time of year so i'll check up on this more often, unlike I was before.

Thanks everyone for the compliments on the ride!
