some changes

Post by diedemus »

I made a few changes today to the core of the forum.

New users must make at least one post if they do not want their account to be automatically deleted. This threshold is set at 120 days right now so shame on you if you cant write a paragraph in 6 months.

I have also implemented some new spam filtering, this shouldn't effect the majority of you but the moderators may appreciate it.

I fixed the polls I think.

I am still working on the image uploader issues, it looks like it times out on larger files, which shouldn't happen because of the way the server is set up.

More changes as I get time, I started classes last week so I may not be quick to update..... not that I have been lately.

I have been very busy/not on Bnet lately but it looks like spam dropped off significantly. Very nice, it was getting crazy for a while!

Hello,

I set up a user account with the name wingnut. I came back to post about a week later, and it said the account was locked due to anti-spam, or something along those lines. I attempted to contact an admin, and waited another week, but did not get a response. I then created this account and have been posting. Is it possible to merge the accounts, or change my name to wingnut? If not, NBD here.

Thanks,

Mark
