yellow convertible Beretta at Sinclair Community College
I posted up photos on bstuff back when it was still accessible, but they were just some generic photos a friend of mine that works there had sent me.
So I finally took some pictures myself, the interior photo's quality isn't the greatest, lighting isn't the best in the showroom though...
The car is sitting in Sinclair Community College in Dayton, it's in the auto-tech building's showroom. Granted it has some cosmetic flaws, but it's still a convertible, so I can look past it! I walk past it five days a week on my way to class, lol.
Enjoy!

Looks like this one never saw the actual track. It is missing a lot of items that the car at the Indy speedway had.

$5 says Kyle Anderson knows who was the last person to sit in this car. Yeah, he knows that much.

Re: yellow convertible Beretta at Sinclair Community College
And he could probably tell you who all sat in it since it was built! LMAO

Very true Styluss! My Honda instructor informed me there's still stuff in the trunk that was never put on it, lol.

Re: yellow convertible Beretta at Sinclair Community College
Well IIRC GM did build a bunch of yellow Indy's to consumer spec (minus the fact that the crash rating wouldn't work) and then gave them away to schools, there were only 3 of the track cars... Obviously one at the track, the winner got one and then I think GM may still have one, but I'm not sure on that. I bet this just has the regular 3.1L engine with a 3t40...
Does the shifter have OD on it or just 1, 2, D.

I also noticed the steering wheel is different on this one, vs the vert we looked at in Indy. lol

Which one was sold at Berret Jackson a couple years ago. Thought that one was the one GMT had.

That one had a regular 3.1 in it.
This one looks like it was made for the public; the Pace Car had a different steering wheel than the regular cars.

Porn.
VIN number 1G1LV34T9LY178766 built 2/15/1990.
This was the ninth yellow convertible built, and it has a black top, 3.1L automatic and analog gauges.
At one time students were allowed to work on this car in the classroom, but they haven't been allowed to work on it for many years.
The most interesting thing about this car is that some of the added supports weren't painted body color. It's like it was rushed though and left unfinished, or that some of the supports were an afterthought.
Geoff, another interesting thing to note is that the pace cars had amber lenses in the front bumper lights, while all others had the standard clear lenses.
More pictures are always appreciated. This car has a convertible-specific suspension, and I really don't know what the changes were. *hint*
I have a problem....

So you know about the video surveillance I have on this car?Wanako wrote:$5 says Kyle Anderson knows who was the last person to sit in this car. Yeah, he knows that much.

I did send e-mails to a few schools that have or had convertibles a few years ago to see what they could tell me. At that time I learned that one college had scrapped theirs, one had donated theirs to another school (didn't have a record of where), and Sinclair was able to give me a little information about the terms under which GM gave them this car.

I had noticed that the pace cars had amber turn signal lenses. Made me wonder...
