My New Daily Driver :D

Post by 95BerettaBase »

Well, when I sold the Beretta I was using my Silverado for a DD. The gas mileage is just a bit lower than my Sierra, but not much. I figured as much as I drive I needed something more economical so I started looking for a "new" vehicle. I browsed craigslist, Autotrader, and eBay for a month or so and came across this. Its an '06 Impala SS. It is fully loaded with every option available. I couldn't stay away from black as you can see.

Here is the truck:

And the new car:

Unfortunately they are front wheel drive. The transmissions in these cars are the weakest point of the whole car. Luckily this one doesn't slip and was an older Navy veteran's car. Its a one owner and has been through one Michigan winter. It was bought in California, driven in Michigan for a few months and then shipped to Hawaii for awhile before coming back here.

95BB, I have to be honest here. Now, I've always considered you a great guy and reasonable, so I know you won't take this as a personal attack, but just my honest opinion.

I absolutely HATE those Impala's. They are thinly veiled Taurus's. Absolutely NO imagination in the body design wso. Just plain jane, nothing special cars.

I like two things about it. It's black, and it has 303 bhp.

I'm sorry man, don't mean to be insulting. I'm glad you dig it and I have NO doubt it will be just as clean in 5 years as we all know how well you care for your vehicles! :D Best of luck with it man. It's just too much of a "looks like every other car on the road" whale boat for me.

They have the LS4. Probably detuned a lot for the tranny. Too bad they didn't come with a 6 speed.

Should have tried to find a Pontiac G8 GT or something. faster, and a more capable platform.

But the Imapala ss isn't too bad.

LOL, you are exactly right!!

That was the whole reason I wanted the car, because it is just a plain looking car. I loved the Base because it wasn't flashy, just plain. I drove an '06 Impala at one of the old police dept. I worked at with the 3.9. The transmission was a piece of crap because the whole dept. rammed the piss out of the car. The comfort for me on the other hand was great. The interior was simple and I liked that. I don't like my vehicles to be too flashy.

No offense taken lol.

Scannerman, the G8 was way out of my price range. I wanted a vehicle I could pay cash for so I don't have any payments with the Impala. It has all the room I need and more than enough power for me.

Thanks for the compliments guys!

New photos :) So far, I've washed, waxed, and polished it. The window visors were removed the other day as well as the stick on blind spot mirrors.
