Who's Done The Headlight Hi & Lo Mod?
Just wondering what you think about it and if there's an easier way...
Seems like there should be a way to jump from the headlight power to the relay signal for the low beams?

What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

sounds like he wants both headlights and high beams on at the same time. not sure how that is accomplished... i think i have seen it before though
4th one's a charm, 5th one is, beginnning to sound like this is an addiction...

Sounds like an unnecessary drain/strain of the charging system to me...

Seriously?? Wow.
Re: Who's Done The Headlight Hi & Lo Mod?
L-bodys shut off the low beam when the high beam is activated. What this mod does is add a relay that supplies 12v+ to the low beam when it detects current on the 12v+ high beam wire.
A 12v+ source goes onto pin 30 on the relay (I got one from an IGN switched source at the fuse panel)
A ground goes to pin 85 (I grounded to the OBD1 connector)
A splice from the high beam's 12v+ goes to pin 86 (easier to do near the bulkhead connector)
A splice to the low beam's 12v+ goes to pin 87 (ditto above note)
You could split the high beam 12v+ (with a diode on the wire to the low beam) so it powered both bulbs, but that draws more current through the high beam's 12v+ wire than I'm comfortable with.

I think this mod is a must-do for every Beretta owner out there.
One of the first mods I've always done after purchasing mine. Just after yanking the door ajar thing away (I've done that in the parking lot just after purchasing the car).
Actually I think it sould be like this from the factory. There is Massive difference in night visibility, and this is a really cheap to do too.

Or you could just install HID's and be done.... No hacking of harness involved and probably TWICE as bright as said hack job..... Oh, and it's wiring fire safe too!

Now only if we had projector style headlights so the beam of light wouldn't spread out like a fat b!tch on a couch...SuzukiGhostRider wrote:Or you could just install HID's and be done....

Running HIDs in the low beams kind of requires this mod. HIDs have a warm up period, and IDK about y'all but I am not a fan of going from HID -> high beams -> pitch black for 3-5 seconds.
Here's what my wiring looks like. I ran the wiring for the headlights through the cruise control grommet and kept the rest of the stuff in the cabin.

Running both lights together is not a "hack job" by any means. It's just something gm forgot to do at the factory

Re: Who's Done The Headlight Hi & Lo Mod?
I think it would be nice to have some 3K HIDs in the lows with this mod done. Lows stay on all of the time and the highs remain for high beams...
Edit: Beat me to it! Exactly what I was thinking!

Re: Who's Done The Headlight Hi & Lo Mod?
im not sure what kind of bulbs are in my 96 they were in it when i got it. they are bright as heck. i very seldom even use my high beams. i run lows + fogs and it lights up a very wide spread and pretty good distance, i hate not being able to see far at night or the side of the road and my low beams are bright enough for me. the high beam is like day time LOL.
Every car i pass pretty much blinks their high beam at me thinking i have mine on and for me to switch to low beam, one of these days ill pull them out and see what kind of bulbs they are.
Just ordered 100 watt H3 bulbs for the fogs can wait to see how bright those are.
