dew strip removel
Hey all just wondering what the best/easiest way to remove the dew strips from my 94 Z?

Re: dew strip removel
Best, or easiest?
Best way, is to pull the door panels, remove the glass, then remove the strip. LOL
However, there is a simpler way...
You will need a special made tool, from Dickyman I think it was. Its basically a very short screwdriver tool to reach the screws while the glass is still installed. You will have to pry out or have some wedges to space the outer lip away from the window glass so that you can get to the heads of the screws. Some people have used a pair of needle nose pliers to lock onto a small phillips bit and use that to remove the screws. In any case, they are a pain in the ass. Take your time, and don't drop the screws down into your door!
You also will need to remove the mirror to be able to remove the strip, so you will have to at least pull the door panel loose enough to get the mirror off. (it covers part of the decorating cover on the inside)
Have fun.

I ended up making my own tool with a wrench, a Philips bit, and some electrical tape. Worked great. Basically the same idea. Lol

Re: dew strip removel
good luck as mostly all the screws will be rusted away, when I did my paint job i used a dremel tool with a cutoff disc to grind off the heads of the screws on the old dew strips. then installed new took about 15 min a side

Re: dew strip removel
I've never had a problem with rusted screws here in Wisconsin. I have removed about 6 sets of dew strips. Hmmf
