That would be the reason why your back end was sitting so low in your original photos... Unfortunately this is the current state of way too many Beretta's.

yep, I am proud of the old thing. Body went 450,000km, i beat the living guts out of it every moment i could. ALWAYS got me home, and drove until dismantled, so other berettas may live. I now have two clean beretta bodys both in better shape than i bought my first car in. 2.8 and 3.1 v6's being my motors of choice. they sound fantastic.

That sucks, but anyone who drives them in salt knows the story. I lost my beloved 95Z to cancer...although I put it down before it got that bad. The sad thing is they never show it on the outside!

Well, almost never show it... LOL

I have seen some in pretty bad body rust shape. Guy was trying to sell me a 96 base with half the passenger rear quarter rusted away (all the way around the rear wheel well) for 700.

yeah that was to problem with the cars of the 90's, they had just enough plastic molding to hide the spots that rust out first... it's also that plastic molding that helps to hold in moisture to rot out the area even quicker! added bonus!

original poster, that really sucks, sorry to hear and see... but you really should have pulled it off the road moons ago if it was anywhere near that bad... very dangerous

Try crashing rustly car like that, it will crush like a paper bag even on very light accident, Very dangerous to drive.

I survived my violent base accident because the car was completely rust free (and I used seatbelt)

Yeah, but even a new car crashed into a semi is going to yield similar results. Sorry.
