Wiring up my radio
Wiring up my radio
I am so freaking confused right now.
On the End of the wiring harness that's to the car I have 2 orange wires & a blue left over, but on the Alpine deck side I have A blue & Blue stripe.... I'm wondering if I hooked something up wrong.
I had hooked it up before, but right now i am lost. I just need to get it hooked up this evening before I go crazy without any music. Plus i need to run the Remote wire from the amp to the harness, and I am pretty sure that's what goes to the blue wire left on the Beretta side of the harness.... help!

Re: Wiring up my radio
orange ones are kinda extras dont worry about them and it goes blue to blue if that doesnt work then hook it to the blue striped one which ever doesnt work tape that one off then ur good. the amp one is usually the solid blue but not always
Re: Wiring up my radio
you said 2 orange one blue on the car side. 2 blue on radio.\
if you have ur amp hooked up to the blue and everything works. tape off the rest

I still gotta run that power wire and get the radio put in :/ Just trying to do the wiring outside of the car instead of on my back in the car

Re: Wiring up my radio
Your subwoofer amp's remote lead goes to solid blue wire on Alpine side. Or anything else you want on only when the radios on. (If you do not have amp or anything else, then Nothing goes there.)
Nothing to the others.
(PS... do not try to use the blue wire as a power source, you will damage the radio. Use a relay. Ask if you have questions about this.)

Hmm... I hooked the subs up and the amp doesn't have power.... i'll try a different fuse.

Re: Wiring up my radio
do you have the blue remote turn on wire from the head unit hooked to the amp?

Re: Wiring up my radio
Be sure to be using that blue wire for your REMOTE hookup on the amp as others have stated. The +12 amp hookup, should be connected to a feed from your battery.

Re: Wiring up my radio
Umm... What's that blue solid wire off of the Beretta side? I think I may have hooked up to that. Which 2 of the 2 blue wires on the left side of that pic do I hook to? That's the alpine side :/ Grr so confused. One Orange wire says "Constant 12v+" but i don't remember using it before
Re: Wiring up my radio
You want to use the solid blue wire (or a solid blue with a white strip) FROM the head unit, NOT the car. There should be only one. Most radio's have a diagram right on them describing the wiring colors and what they do. You want to use the wire for REMOTE. In most cases, this is blue, but this may not be true of all radio's.
So read the schematic, see what color is labeled for REMOTE. That is the color you use to hook to the REMOTE on the amp.
