transmission

Post by fuzzchop »

I had my diff case explode on tranny it moves still and spider gear fell out plus main case piece broke off top with a sensor on it My car has 101,000 on it should i take the tranny out of my other parts car which ran perfect but has 160,000 on it or put a used one in with less than 90,000 on it and 90 day warranty or have them take the two and make a good one?

Is it automatic? I did the same thing to mine and just swapped a new diff and cover in. Took a few hours. If its a 5speed replace the whole trans

Replace trans with what ever is easiest. Do not reuse that broken one!

HOnestly my auto cracked a little when my diff broke but it was fine and didn't leak when I replaced the diff. As long as its on top it's below the fluid level

It's cast aluminum and I wouldn't trust it. If it were a mounting boss or ear that mates a dry surface it wouldn't be that big of a deal.

Have fun with it if you should ghetto rig it to get you by.
