I bought them off Amazon...yea I know lol. I was out of options cause I couldn't find a set anywhere in the junkyards till after I bought these lol

That was the cable I needed since the other one was fine, but then I changed both when we went with the other type of cables since they were easier to find.

Yep. Broken cable. Though it looks like the outer housing is damaged, more than the inner, but then I have no real clue, never really had one of these to drive and work on, outside of the POS 94 base 2.2 with the Isuzu. As noted in the thread, there are members with some to sell.

Okay guys I managed to removed that inferior shift cable. I was lucky enough to make the decision of removing the carpet and leaving it like that. Made the job easier.

Well Im going to the junkyard for now to get a replacment tommorow. What are my options so I dont have to do this every six months?

Have you ever greased them at all? Make sure there are no pinch points or sharp angles? Hell I don't know. lol

Unfortunatly that is a break that you cant really avoid with any other stock beretta cables. They are aluminum collars crimped to a steel cable housing. I wanted to weld mine but obviuosly couldnt. I broke a cable the same way.

You can modify and use cables from almost any other fwd car. I started to build a sick shifter setup with a civic shifter, h22 cables, ball bearing ends, etc. But lost interest in fwd all together.

Can you fabricate? Almost every import shifter out there is better than our shifters and other GM crap.

Can I fab? Have you seen my Hurst shifter on the GTZ? I just need directon is all. I like to do the work myself rather than pay someone to do it. I like to learn.

As many have posted and also the link above, Dorman is still making them, but many people say the quality is crap and they break quicker than factory cables do.

Is this one of those times when Booger Bushings would help? As for the cables post it up if you get them, many here have asked about them.

Nah, it looks like his actual cable is ripped, not the ends. Those booger bushings are awesome tho.
