If you are only posting to kick off a bickering war then do not bother posting. Consider this a verbal warning.DUBS28 wrote:WOW!!! Did I call it or what?!? Here we go with more delays.DUBS28 wrote:With all due respect to Gerson and all others who want to design a card I think we need to set a deadline. OR, We have a great example from Chris that most all of us agree on, lets find a way to get it paid, printed and distributed.
We all know that more designs will just lead into a vote that will delay this project even more.
Not trying to start any fights, just being logical.
You started this thread yes, but in the end we would like to have the cards, if we are going to use them, represent us in a good way as well as all be the same. You could just come up with whatever you want and drop it on someones car if you want thats your choice... But we've asked Wanako to design a card that will available to our members to use and fit the general board graphics that have been used recently so when they do visit the board they see the card represents what they are looking at, as well as keeping it simple. As much as I like the group shot ideas the only thing that turns me away from that is the fact that there are so many cars pictured and a good chunk of them are not active members on here, either anymore, or the car is also now gone, Mostly referring to the older group shots... that's not so much with the more recent Indy or Chicago pictures.
Re: Business Card Interest
If it will help, I did just upload these bigger (400 % of actual size) images, just to be clear.
Front:

Back:

I figure since everyone has been seeing actual sized versions, maybe a larger one has more impact...
And I'm flexible, we can always use different car graphics, those are just what I had.

Yes Wanko designed the new official logo and I think its awesome! But it still has yet to be changed on the site. And just a thought, this may have been covered in a different thread but Wanko designed Base, GTU and Z designs (not to mention the one off vert spoiler design
). What one is actually the official design?

He designed the official decals, not the logo for the site.
I asked him to do a card design because he did the official decal design, as it stands right now the forums logo was an attempt to get some community involvement with the design process when I took over maintaining it. Once we have a finalized design that will likely be worked into site. If people are going to make card designs I would suggest that that be kept in mind and also keep in mind that this is not a board for someones hobby project, the logos span not only the main site, but the forum and bfest. Not to be confused with the yearly logo change for the event based on the location.

Re: Business Card Interest
I've got a long weekend so I've got time to work on it.
As far as site logos, Diedemus is right. I got the vector files from Woody for the logo we have at the top of the page and front page, so I can do whatever is needed to those with any decrease in image quality. I'll go ahead and use that design because it is the true logo of the website. I'll keep my design out of it, and only for the stickers and such. For a business card, I do like Woody's design better anyways. I'll work on it and see what I can incorporate from Ace's design.

Thanks dude. I like the minimalistic design I've seen in some logos. I don't have a front version of the car. I made that logo from scratch, but I can make a front version.themadness wrote:nice wanako.
i havent done graphics since'06 but simple is always better when it comes to logos. i would rotate the car clockwise just a cooter hair or two. and maybe a drop shadow on the lettering.
does a front shot of the car in that style exist? damn i wish i still had photoshop.
i always used logopond.com for inspiration when i did logos

Seriously Dan, who the hell are you going to hand these to anyway? And GW... all of the Vatos and high school chicks in Colorado will not be tripping over themselves to get on the website!
Okay, maybe we should push to get some high school chicks on here...

Interesting coincidence: on January 20th I saw a nice Z-26 that made me think up this project and start this thread. One month later on February 20th I spot this awesome GT!

Must be something about the 20th...

Re: Business Card Interest
no one is stopping you from making your own cards, but if you want a site and committee approved option you need to wait.
Re: Business Card Interest
I concur.
Hell, use pen and paper like we all do. The business cards will simply be a nice touch and yes, they are still going through the R&D phase.

Re: Business Card Interest
Ok let's get this moving forward. Are we ready to take the ones submitted and start a poll? Or are we waiting for more designs?
Re: Business Card Interest
As of last notice that I recall, we are awaiting a final from Wanako, possibly some ideas from one or two others.. At least that's my understanding. Wanako's previous was just a rough layout. I for one am not in a hurry. Its what you all decide to do though that matter.

This will happen Dan.
This is BNet after all!
I'm honestly a little surprised at how on fire you all are about this. I'm not sure I've seen the board be more passionate over anything else save for BFest...
