Plastic seatback cover on 88-90 Berettas?

Post by GTU89 »

Did they all come with them? I was at the Junkyard maybe a month ago and I saw a few old Berettas with that weird plastic-cover type thing that goes on the back of the front seats. Are they worth any money that they'd be worth snatching up?

Just the early '88 models. I wouldn't say they're worth anything special though. Maybe if they were in a rare color like beige or something.

Did they serve any purpose? I may get a set if I ever put my interior back to stock.

I've got an early '88 that came with those seats. If you don't mind checking them out again I may be interested in a complete replacement for the drivers side if they are in good condition and at the right price. Mine are gray. Also check the door panels, the early '88 design in good condition hold together much better then the later design and someone may want to switch to that style.

Okay, I'll check them out next time I go. Obviously price depends on how much the Junkyard wants but how much would you be willing to pay?

Also, would you be interested in a 88 fatty shifter? lol

I have never seen or heard of anyone wanting them.

I had a 88GT that came with a set, they seemed weird to me. They eventually replaced the thrashed seats in one of my GTUs prior to selling. The only thing I really liked, is that the seat back is much thinner, which would equate to more backseat room for those unfortunate folks.

My dad had a 79 Mercury Capri with plastic backing..and like Beretta's this was fazed out in later years. With GM I can only think of Corvettes having plastic seat backs.

Sorry man, I forgot to subscribe to the topic and completely forgot about this. I found out mine will be an easy fix so don't worry about it. Thanks though.
