all exterior and door moldings

Post by JAWS89GTU »

I'm looking for new molding gor the gtu, I'm wondering if anyone has put a different type on beside the stock ones that were on the early gt's and gtu's and if you have pictures..I'm really looking for them to be red in color.. I have bought new front and rear bumper moldings already and guess I could always use those for the fron and rear quarters and tthe doors but not sure how that would look either.. if anyone can help me I would really appreciate it.. thanks guys..

Have you considered just removing the side moldings all together? Keep the trim on the bumpers, and just take the sides off, and clean up the area to make it look smooth. I doubt these are available new, but I could be wrong.

Good Luck!

These pieces are designed to "break" when removed so that if they are ever removed they must be replaced with new ones. Removing them without them breaking (read: bending out of shape completely) is possible, but will take a lot of patience and time. As 2.2 mentioned, I doubt they are available new.

I too have removed my side moldings and have also swapped to the newer style bumpers where the molding trim is actually part of the bumper, all in one piece and color matched. But I can understand your desire to keep your GTU looking completely factory.
