front gtu stock sway bar size

Post by JAWS89GTU »

I'm going to change out the sway bar frame bushings but need to know what's the size of the bar as there were like 4 different possibilities as far as size. Can anyone help me out here and are they a pain to change out? Thanks

Not sure of the size either but to change the bushings isnt too bad if you don't mind laying under the car for a bit. Subframes will, at the very least, need to be partially dropped as the bar sit on top of them. The rear two subframe bolts wil need to be removed and the front two loosened enough to allow the rear part to drop down far enough to get the bar in, out. Of course all of this while the car is supported on stands high enough to let you work.

Good luck!!!

30mm is what you need.

88 GTUs had the option for a 32mm size. That was the only larger offering.
