New hoses didn't seem to make the problem stop

Kinda wondering now if the issue isn't possibly the front brakes not functioning properly causing the back to grab more and lock up. The car doesn't nose dive when the brake is applied at speed, it just squats in the rear. So when we get time we'll dig into that a little more and see what's going on.

Very frustrating!!!

Can the ABS make this problem? It must act as a porportioning valve in some way.

Thought of those two things as well.

I would think if it were the abs that the sensor would have lit up on the dash by now, but I could be wrong.

Front end has only ever had pads/rotors changed and rears have all new parts. No sensors or master have been replaced. But if it were the master, why does it seem to only be the one side that has a problem?

the master has two pistons... if the front piston isn't operating very well then your rear piston is going to see more force creating a higher grabbing point back there. I would look at the front's possibly starting with the lines and bleed the whole system really good. If you can't nose dive it and it squats on heavy braking then you obviously have way too much rear stopping power and the fronts aren't doing much.

Ok, so decided to upgrade shoes in rear this time in hopes that would be the issue...keep in mind that brakes were 100% fine until all new parts mentioned in first post were replaced. Anyway, got torn apart and the new wheel cyl on drivers side has broken in half. So hopefully I will have an update tomorrow on whether or not that was the issue...fingers crossed!!

Good news! So it was the wheel cylinder then? Was that a cheap brand?

I don't remember what brand it was as I couldn't find my receipt, but it came from Oreillys.

Master Pro I'd bet. Anything from them is junk. Brake Best is about is low as I would go.
