it's been awhile, but I have returned

Post by tvc3-gtz »

Hey guys, it's been a very long time since I have been on the forums and such. My apologies and I hope everyone had a healthy and safe end of 2011, and a good year so far. I still have the GTZ, I'm sure some of you may wanna see some pictures, which will be up within the week. I had to undergo a lot of work to this car including:

- head gasket replacement
- battery / electrical issues
- timing chain + entire timing system replacement
- (newest issue) possible bearing issue/alternator bearing issue
- eventually will need a new clutch

Although I seem to have many issues with the car since I am forced to drive it daily. I love this car. It's my 3rd Beretta, and definitely the one I will keep regardless of where I end up in life. I just turned over 118k on the Odometer. I am definitely keeping my eyes open to the possibility of purchasing another Beretta for my daily driving. I will keep you informed as I attempt to situate my finances and get back on track so that I can finally give the GTZ the performance modifications I have desired for a LONG time now.... My plans are:

- W41 top end work/swap (open to purchasing parts)
- exhaust replacement
- custom burnt chip
- ceramic coated headers
- clutch (eventually is going to go as it is)
- better oil cooler (running kind of hot)
- fix my Viper Alarm system to work again
- better head unit for sound system (awesome speakers already installed)
- cold air intake

Hopefully as my job searching gets better and my higher priority stuff gets taken care of (my wedding planning, money saved, my video game events that I host all finished) then I can move on to give the 90 GTZ what it deserves. I will say this though, I take very very very good care of this car and it shows. Where I love (Western MA) there really aren't any Berettas at all, let alone GTZ's, and almost all of the Berettas I have sen are abused and used harshly. Well anyways I have talked your ears off so I will throw this pic from tonight on here, but better ones will be up this week sometime. BTW, I run a wicked large video game tournament series for the entire northeastern US and I figured you all would get a kick out of the name I go by at every tournament I run/play in. I am known in the community as "GTZ".. ;)

Good to see your still around, and the cars still lookin' good. What game/games do you run tournaments for "GTZ"?
You ever get pulled over for running the headlight covers at night, or do you take em' off? I used to get pulled over all the time at dusk on my way home. Pissed me off! I rarely even use mine anymore, the get pulled out of the box just after a good wash, and only on nice bright sunny days. Still, the car looks WAY better with em' in my opinion, and I actually preferred the look of them on the 2 bases that I had, with the black egg-crate grill.

I don't usually use them at night, I tend to do what you said and take them off. I just left em on since it was parked and looked pretty cool at night. Yeah I know what you mean, they looked awesome on my old Beretta Indy. :) thanks
