If you have the base or INDY/GTU bumper style I change my bulbs by putting my hand through the middle of the bumper and reach for the bulb. One bulb is on top and the other is in the back.

Yeah, just take off the plastic header panel cover and reach in from the middle, pop the bulb out, change, reinstall. Done.

Wait, you mean the plastic cover that you also have to take off to get at the headlights or the plastic piece under the headlights and grille? It's either the two outers or two inner bulbs on my GTU that should be changed, the turn signals still work but only the turn signal bulbs work so it looks weird when the parking lights are on.

The top, thin plastic cover that is held on with 4 small plastic tabs. Take it off and you should be able to reach down and into the area behind the bumper and get to the lights very easily.

Oh okay, I've had that off before to swap in non fogged headlights. Do the headlights or grill need removed? I'm guessing the headlights do? Also, what kind of bulb do the parking/turn signals take so I can get them ahead of time.

You just remove the head lights with their housings, only have 3 screws holding in each, 7 or 8 mm I think. 2 on the front (1 left and 1 right at the bottom) on each and one in the middle rear at the bottom. They can be flipped forward or laid back, don't even have to unplug them. But don't pull the bulbs, just unplug the harness if you need to remove them out of the way. The bulbs for the parking lights are directly below.

I can pull the headlights and the grill from these cars in less than 5 minutes, but you only need to remove the lights. The grill will not be a problem.

You will need one 1157 and one 194 on each side, and they have to have a yellow tint on the bulb, unless you happen to have yellow colored lenses? Not sure if any base came with that though, I think they were all a smoky clear color. (Or faded clear, ha)

GTU's use base bumpers right?

Okay, its the two outer lights that are blown, my turn signals still work. Probably good measure to just replace all 4 when I do it?

Probably wouldn't hurt. And yeah, I think the GTU's use the same style of inner bumper as the base, since the lighting was the same. Only the Z04 setups had a different mounting, and in the later years both styles used the same bumper reinforcement anyway so it didn't matter any more. I had used a 94 base bumper for the 94 Z bumper and it had both styles of light mounts.

OH, and buy the same brand/color style bulbs for both sizes, so that the color looks the same on the outside, I have seen people with two tone colors going on, like one more yellow and one more orange, stuff like that. Just FYI.

You don't need to remove the headlights. You can just reach in there from the center and get to them no problem.

You mean from underneath? Maybe. On mine you can't, the air baffles block you. You have to either pull the lower skirts or the head lights, at least on the Z. Not sure on the base I have, but I thought the baffles were still in your way, even then. Maybe you don't have any baffles on yours, or they are different on the GTU. (they would go on each side following the path of air to the rad) Still, for the amount of time it takes to pull a head light, big deal. 3 small bolts with large washers. Less than 2 minutes a side and you have instant access, and don't even have to feel your way or fumble around. LOL

Just to update, I did it right away and it was easy as pie, didn't even have to remove the headlights.
