Batteries, What Are You Using?

So, I have been rocking a Bosch battery for a little while now, honestly I can't remember how long. But, I have now been through 5 batteries because they keep just shitting out on me. And that's 5 batteries in under 2 months mind you. The latest bit of fun? The battery just drips acid out of it. All over the battery tray, all over my CAI piping and coupler (which it destroyed), all over the radiator, the transmission lines and more. I have been through three batteries that just leaked themselves to death. I don't know if the battery is the issue but A shop told me that they saw no unusual voltage pulls nor any overcharging.

So, what battery are you using? I am taking this damn thing back and demanding a refund and a different brand. The thing is, I used a Bosch battery for a few months with no issue and all of the sudden whatever I put in there is just crap.

I have a red top in my Beretta and a generic brand from Advance Auto in my Legacy.

i've had an interstate battery for quite some time in the Grand Am and what ever was in the Legacy when i bought it. ( think that might be an AC Delco)

Napa in the Z, Duralast in the base. Previous battery in the Z was a Duralast Gold, held up for around 8 years. The OEM battery lasted nearly 7, and this battery has been in the car since 08', along with the alternator.

The Duralast in the base is maybe a year or so old, but in good condition.

The folks mostly rock with the Interstate batteries. The van has a Napa in it now.

Pricing on batteries have been uber high lately though.

Think mine is a duralast also ... have had for about 4-5 years with no problems

all my cars/trucks have interstate batteries, never had any issues.

the only thing that eats batteries is my little honda 250 but i've been using walmart batteries in it. for some reason the foreman 500 still has the original battery and is going on 6 yrs old.

Interstate batteries sold after today will have a new prorating system that goes on percentage after your 2-3 yr free replacement and a 8% increase in price. i think all others will have a price hike too but wont be as high as interstate.

I always buy the cheapest one possible from Walmart. Replace it every 3 to 4 years and it will never let you down. There pretty durable too. Crashed my Nissan and all the sheet metal conformed to the battery. I had to pry it out and it was fine.

I plan on buying a red top soon for my car, but as of right now I have one that got revived. I have had it for about 6 months seems to be doing ok. I had a diehard before that I think it was in the car for about 7 years.

Always had Duralast in mine...never had a problem.

The ACDelco in my Camaro and the Interstate in my Beretta both last 6-7 years. All my cars currently have Napa batteries within the last few years... I'll see how they hold up.

I have a white and green Interstate one in mine htat has been in it for a couple years. I want to get a red top one, but this one just keeps going even though I killed it a few times. Why pay for another when this one still works great? lol I will get one when this finally has seen its days.

I been using Walmart batteries for years with no problems. I had a Duralast too with no problems.
I think you have something wrong with your car. What do you mean rocking?
Anyway, I've found battery trays don't keep the battery flat and they break internally between cells and then
the battery is unable to supply current even though it has 12 volts and a hydrometer with show it as charged.
I've had this happen twice in my Buick Regal, once in my daughter's Saturn, with Delco battery.
I stored a motorcycle battery on a metal shelf with cardboard under it. The shelf bowing under the weight, caused the battery
to curve slightly up on the ends. In the spring, after one week in the bike the battery broke as I described. I went through
two before I figured this out. Now I keep it in the bike and keep a float charger on it.
Maybe your tray is not supporting the battery and the case is cracking and then leaking?
If your tray is bent or has holes in it, get a new one.

Well, no one else is on Bosch batteries huh? And the Red Top seems to be in "high demand" with this crowd? I am going to take this battery back and exchange for the red top then I guess. I had an interstate battery in there, but the green top was hideous. I guess the red top may be no better...
I truly don't believe that my battery tray is messed up, but it very well could be. I'm not sure I have ever heard of batteries "breaking" in the middle. That's a new one. I'll have to check the tray when I take this one out. I will have to hit it with a wire brush and some paint at this point as it has literally sat in battery acid for weeks now. Not looking forward to cleaning this up.

get some of that battery acid neutralizer spray stuff... you wont regret it.

And a red top is nice, it has nothing to leak. We cracked one clean open at a race one night during a wreck and there was nothing that came out of it. It stunk like a bastard but no battery acid.
