Right turn signal not working

Post by SummitBalt08 »

I had my Z at the body shop for quite some time.. When they originally repaired and painted the front bumper I asked them to put the clear corners and new foglight in while they had the cover off. Well of course they forgot..

Then after a couple weeks I dropped it back off for them to wetsand and polish. I then asked them to throw throw the clear corners in while they had it. They called a couple days later and told me they got the fogs working and the clear corners in but were still working on the paint.

I stopped by to take a look at the car because I was curious what it looked like with the clear corners in. I turned on the lights and everything worked at it should.

Then a week and a half later they called and said the car was done. (they did a really poor job polishing it out and I was tired of complaining to them). I took the car home and the right turn signal green arrow was stuck on. The right turn signal wouldnt work.

I got home and with the parking lights or headlights on the front right bulb is stuck on the brighter part that normally would only come on when the turn signal or hazards are on. The left side is fine. When the hazards are on now all bulbs blink as they should except for the front right. The back right blinks fine with them.

A month and a half until Bfest and this happens.. I checked the wiring on the bulb in the front and it looks fine and I even swapped the bulbs out from one side to the other to see if it was a bad bulb and no luck. Its definitely not the bulb.

Is there anything I should check? I have never had a wiring problem in this car its all original never been hacked with a system or anything by previous owners.

Make sure they didn't stuff the wrong bulb in there, or backwards...

Nevermind...

Did you veirfy the correct pins are getting the right voltage with a meter.

Sounds like a bad ground or crossed wire in the harness somewhere.

IIRC the sockets plug into the main headlight harness unless that was just a Base option, but if it does then they could have pulled that plug apart somehow by accident and then mixed up two of the pins... It seems like its a straight up backwards install of the high and low pins for the bulb, or yes the bulb is jammed in there backwards.

I never knew bulbs could be in backwards.. probably because I never tried it haha. I took it out and put it back in the opposite way and it works perfect now. I guess the body shop guy didn't know how to put a bulb in right.
