Yeah the pins I used are threaded completely to adjust hight then there are two jam nuts with lock washers so they don't move around. I could have forced the hood down more, but then it bends down around the pins, which not only looks bad, but could crack the very thin fiberglass. The mounting location I used was pretty much my only option as well, for the front I used the radiator support which is the farthest forward piece of metal under the hood and there is no room to extend them forward with brackets because of the headlights. Not like this is a really big issue though. If you look at other cars that have actual "race weight" hoods on them they usually have four pins running the front of the hood, in fact, some tracks actually require it for safety reasons.

On another note, those pins that 3X00-Modified posted look a lot cleaner, plus they are at least somewhat of a locking style as well. Where did you find those so I can order them?

A few new daylight pics to show you all, plus I figured I would tell you all a little bit about myself. I am an ASE master certified auto mechanic and I graduated from UTI's Glendale Heights, IL campus where I took their basic automotive coarse (includes performance classes) and the Toyota elective. I currently work at a smaller shop that does pretty much everything but we specialize in steering/suspension work. Ive worked on cars since I was about 10 years old (I'm 23 now) and don't see myself stopping anytime soon. I live in central Minnesota, right along I-94 between the Twin Cities and Saint Cloud. As far as my preference goes with how I mod my car and what I like to see in other cars is function over form, I love rat rods. So yeah, my paint doesn't shine, it might have a few dents and dings here and there and my engine bay is a bit of a mess, but its quick and it handles great. If any of you have any questions about anything feel free to ask.





EDIT: I do have the bow-tie that goes in the grille, but I'm not quite done painting the car so I'm not quite sure what accent colors to put around the raised bow-tie, among other things.

Those pins that I found were one of the locking styles that Summit had. There are many more out there and you may want to look and see if you can find some heavy duty ones. Those look ok, but I'm not sure how well they would hold.

Oh yeah its still in the GTU and working just the way its supposed to. Although I do want to get a proper 3400 chip made for it. Anyone know who to contact?

Problem with the WOT-tech chip is that I have a digital dash. So those are a no go. Anyone know if the chips sold on v6z24 are digi-dash compatible?
