Wow, way more meat than I plan on using. I'm figuring on using something in the 245-255 range for width.

The rear suspension is something I'm really not sure how I'm going to handle yet.  I'm not sure if I'm gonna figure out a way to mount leafs or if I want to modify the existing independent coils for a solid axle.

You have any ideas on this one yet or are you going to cross that bridge once you're closer to it?

Looks like you may want to sandblast and  undercoat that puppy while you're under there.  Just a thought, it'd save a lot of body work down the road a few years.

I can't begin to imagine the mountain of parts you accumulated during the strip.  I bet it's a hell of a stack.

Now that the rusted subframe parts have been removed the underside does not look bad.  The double-sided galvanized has held up well on our winter salted roads.  If I removed the galvanized and undercoat it would start to rust away where ever a stone removed the undercoat in few years.  Besides, that adds weight.

Lucky the garbage man has an automatic lift.  I did seen him scanning the contents.  ;-)

So we aren't the only ones that have car parts "accidently" fall in the garbage can from time to time

I used leave a trail of iron.  Someome would walk into the garage would able to tell which corner I worked on.  Or if I was  banging on the exhaust a a silouette of iron would appear on the floor

The C5 stuff is ALL aluminum.

looks like funs. i think starting from scratch like what your doing makes everything sooooo much easier. trying to save this and not ruin that makes things harder. with everything exposed is so nice.

keep going at it. looks like progress is moving alone well

Just dont' throw away soemthing you'll need. Like the interior!!
Even if you are going to use some peices from a corvette inside, you'll need the trim for the B pilars/C pillars etc!!

Basically from the rear seat back everything is staying.  Not sure how big the trans. tunnel will end up and it might effect the rear seat.  Probably end up putting in bucket seats in the rear.

A-pillar to dash and door will be Vette.  I might pick up a inside door skin and start retro fitting.  I'll be switching over to power windows and locks attaching it to the door and let a DuraMend do any molding that might need to be done.  It will not have map pockets like the Beretta but should prove to be pretty solid and hopefully an alternative  even though it will be black.

You can dye the rear plastic b/c pilars and stuff pretty easily. Then if you get bucket seats they can be black too no problem. Then just re-cover your head liner (probably sagging anyways) to black and your'e set!

It will be interesting to see how the C5 doors/dash/a-pillars mount up...
