Bfest 2012 WI Caravan?

Post by quad4berettagtz »

That's right folks, I'm trying to drum up some interest for some nostalgia. The WI caravan to BFest used to be the biggest lineup of cars to pull into the event (even if we were sometimes late to registration check in... ).

The route: up through the UP for a scenic drive to BFest across the Mackinaw (sp?) bridge.

The time: departing from the Green Bay area on wednesday morning, time TBD.

We have 3 cars currently with a 4th on deck...

Are you in, or are you out?

Are you going the same way both ways? We have been looking and circling. Going a different direction each way.

Probably going the UP both ways for us. Pat and I were contemplating the SS Badger car ferry originally, but that adds $100 to the trip and the schedule doesn't look friendly either. We would have to leave Bfest by 7:30 am on sunday! Or not arrive until 8:30 at night wednesday...

Yeah I was contemplating the Ferry too until I saw how much cheaper it would be to drive. I'd love to tag along with you guys, but I'm highly doubting it due to my work schedule. I will be going the same route though, so I should be able to join you for the drive back.

Hopefully you can make it with us on the way out too Mark, although I understand with work and all. Anyone else? I'll have to bug Brett R on FB since he can't get his username to work on here...

He got his username working fine. He has an ad in the for sale section with all his parts from his part-out. And why would he caravan, he lives in MI already? I think you're a bit confused, lol!

Unless you mean me? (Brett M) who lives by Mark and Erin. As of now, I think I'm heading out Thursday with them.

My username works just fine too btw! lmao

Lata homie! :D

WOW, there are too many names spinning around my head...

Yea I meant you LOL. You guys are for sure going thursday? I was hoping I could convince all of you to go wednesday and have a big caravan. That 8 hr drive is going to make you guys pretty late on thursday huh?

Not if we leave by 5 lol. And it says its a 9 hour drive. I'll go earlier if you can convince Erin and Brett to do $150 for the weekend so we have a room on weds night as well lol. However I work 6-10AM on Wednesday so I'd have to figure out someone to switch with.

The ferry is a slow boat to China. The lake express is 3 hours.... SS Badger is double that haha. Maybe if it were 50 dollars.

Badger is a 4 hr ride - do your homework! ;)

It's actually a shorter drive for me to go around the UP than around Chicago. And much more enjoyable.

$74 each person + $74 for vehicle

For me that is $222. That can buy a lot of fuel

I am really liking the ability to drive around the lake!! I live about a mile from LSD...Lake Shore Drive in Chicago. I am looking into the Lake Michigan Circle Tour.

I too am excited about the drive to Bfest, but I was hoping for a unique experience with the ferry too. If I had deeper pockets....
