your dome light fallin?.....a quick fix

my dome light cover falls constantly. i'm retentive so i found a cure on a ford ranger forum.

here's what i did and so far its working. its the "paper clip fix". both nipples on side of my cover were worn off. so both clips are on one side.

cut a paper clip to make to small lower case j shapes
drill two small hole just big enough for the clip pieces
put your dome cover on
slide the clips into the wholes so the go behind the plastic bracket that attaches to the roof
done

it isnt ugly and may have already been done by a member here but i'm bored and thought i would share. i have a 94 base so i dont know if it would work on earlier years with the different cover.

In case the whole dome light assembly needs to be fixed again (and the stock metal clips are broken), then thats my way how to fix it:



Take one of these, cut away the plastic, cut the metal piece inside in half so you have 1 screwhole left, and you have srewable mounting clip for your dome light!

It is to put together 2 cables in a not so nice way...mainy used for home electrics.

themadness, I have a couple complete good dome light assemblies sitting in the garage, if you want one just ask! I have two grey ones, both from 94's actually.

i got a bad case of the red interior.

i do have a laundry list of things i want to get sometime or another in the future. red stuff is rare in these parts and cash is M.I.A these days. shoot ACE may still have a red back seat i have been dying to get and just havent had the dough.

i checked your facebook page. do you have some sort of inventory list?

I don't really keep an inventory at all per say unless I find I part I know I can sell quick. I work primarily by request! I think there still may be a Beretta and a Corsica locally with maroon interior! Thanks for checking out my facebook page PM me your laundry list if you want.
