Re: Beretta Drag Car
That Trans-Am car is pretty sweet... I know they started using them back in the 90's but then they stopped due to them being very aerodynamic in comparison to others... there was also an attempt to use them as Nascar bodies but I think the same issue came up, or at least that's what I remember reading when I saw the articles that used to be on Bnet.
As far as the Drag car, I can go to Epping and see at least two of those, they are quite common since you can buy a full fiberglass body, so really you just need to find someone who likes that body style and they will just slap that body on a funny car cage/frame.

Re: Beretta Drag Car
seeing as to how both doors open up fully, i dont beleive its just a "fiberglass" body.3X00-Modified wrote:That Trans-Am car is pretty sweet... Orly...

I've touched two built exactly the same way, FULL FIBERGLASS BODY. I even asked him if it was an original body and he said oh god no, they are reproduction full fiber body's that weigh way less and are way easier to make work.
Or are you trying to start an argument and get technical... yes there is some sort of metal frame in the hinge area and latch area.

Re: Beretta Drag Car
I'm guessing you didn't get very close to the one that you saw open. If you look at the inside, you'll see the metal support bars that hold them together. -tried to upload a picture but failed. Doesn't like Google Chrome?
Also, watch them go down the track in slow motion. You'll see the bodies flex and move around. You don't see that with aluminum bodied race cars.
I've only seen one Beretta funny car at the division/national events I attend
. Though, I typically see 1-2 ones that race Super Gas. They sound just a little meaner than Jon's. But not by much
