Re: 94 Z26 (3400 5 speed)
That's Tim Wortman's old car, currently being sold by Mike Pride's brother TJ. I witnessed the 3400 run a 15.2 with the automatic back in 2002 when Tim owned it.
Definitely a good buy.

Re: 94 Z26 (3400 5 speed)
The ad doesn't say it was the first, just one of the first, which is true.
I was the first 3100 5spd, then did the 3400 swap a year later in 2004/2005. Mike did the swap on this car with the writeup I made years ago, and Scott (McGavin) got the parts off a friend/previous member's car that was parted out for his swap. I know he got it done before BFest 05 since he raced down the strip with the 3400SC 5spd setup in his Z26. There have also been a couple other guys who have done the 3400 5spd swaps around the same time, but I can't remember if they did the swaps all at once or one swap then another (Shane's car PO, Elroy, and BJ).
So I'm not laying claim to 1st 3400 5spd, but I wouldn't be surprised if I was.

That makes me the first idiot to keep screwing with a 4t60e doesn't it... LOL
Re: 94 Z26 (3400 5 speed)
Yeah, but that thing works really well for you Jon. lol
If I was to build one for drag, would probably go the same route.

Looks like a factory stock install. I'd bet 99% of people wouldn't notice.

Re: 94 Z26 (3400 5 speed)
It's a 94, and to the best of my knowledge has not been converted over to OBDII. So it's the awesome OBD1.5 that 94's and 95's had.

Re: 94 Z26 (3400 5 speed)
Its been almost 10 years since I put this car together(pre 5spd)
This is the car that made people abandon older 2.8 5spd. Prior to this people fantasized about the aluminum block etc.
I already had purchased a low mileage 3400 from a 00GA for my 1995 the year prior but ran out of money due to losing my job at Aon. I was hanging out with Timmah and going to Speedway yards in St Louis and found this 3400 in a wrecked 99GA. I bought top end pieces(being the first newer 3400 i found in self serve yards) and returned to Timmah's house to tell him what we found. Went back with a borrowed truck. Bought the 3400 for $200 plus the parts purchased the day before. Then we just figured out what he had to do. We had no idea on the similarities, OBDII vs OBDI differences...nothing.
Its unfortunate the a/c was removed. That was never the intention of the build. There was a lot of experimenting on what needed to get done to install this. This car had several transmissions. Later it got a 3.33 diff'ed 4T60e before going to M/T.
There was an attempt to install headers(exhaust shop from Decatur IL) at one point but ran into hangups. Lots of money was dumped into a Chicago company that was doing head porting and manifold work. The bill just on that was about $1300?.
This car was one of the first to get the updated gaskets which apparently failed.
I spent a lot of time and driving to work on this car. It was nearly 180 miles from where i lived, done in a barn without running running water..nor toilet. Hence jokes about shitting in bags.
The manual transmission was done by a different group.
"That makes me the first idiot to keep screwing with a 4t60e doesn't it... LOL" Well, you can call yourself and idiot..but not really. I actually was messing around with using 4T60e and insisted that it was the trans to use other than its ridiculous gearing.
