I've had good luck with elcheapos on my jeep and the folks trailblazer and lesabre. Never had to change one on my Beretta. Still nice tight, and smooth. Owned it 12 years this month and auto-xed dozens of times. Not to mention whacking that curb at Bfest last year. My Ranger eats them (cheapos or premo's) like candy once or twice a year but thats due to abuse offroad.

Did you install the inside knuckle seal and was the axle nut torqued to 185ftlbs?

There are such thing's as a bad part and if you got it from Autozone it should come with a lifetime Warranty. Or go to Timken direct.

My Timkens are still going nice. 2 years now, and I'm DDing it. Pretty hard I might add, it gets lots of curvy roads on the island.. LOL

But sadly, I never actually torqued them down... I know I cranked them down tight, but are they tight enough, I don't know now. Whoops. Didn't know there was a torque spec for them... At least I installed the seals... lol

I did, and it was. Or was close. I need to get with Timken I guess. I bought it off of Ebay, but hopefully they'll warranty. If not, I'll just buy a cheapo I guess.

Problem with that is some companies will not warranty items bought on ebay.

Timken online or on rock auto is listing 12month warranty.

I remember Auto zone giving out a lifetime on those so that's why I would go directly through them when I bought bearings.

Moog has a limited lifetime on rock auto

i got the raybestos front wheel bearing on my 95, so far so good. it was a mid priced selection on rockauto i believe. (i could not figure how the inner seal would go on properly...it was a fair amount larger diameter than the inside -backside of the hub... anyone have pics?

Yeah, I do, hang on I will link it.

Edit:

Quoted from my Z26 rebuild thread... This was right before I went to Chicago in 2010. Actually about what, 2 days before I left! lol
DTMAce wrote:Getting closer actually. Tearing the front passenger wheel down at the moment, ran into a problem. It seems the 30k mile ball joints are junk. I can move it up and down in the socket like 1/4 inch almost. Not good. So, going to Napa to get me two new ones, not taking chances. I had previously replaced them myself as I said 30k ago, so these are just the bolt on's, which will make it easier, I think. Damn thing was so rusted around the knuckle housing it wasn't even funny. Had to air hammer the damn bearing off.

Anyways, PICS!

Well, now to get to town and get the joints! Later!

It fits in just like a standard seal... nothing special really.

Timkin are junk now as posted by Kurt earlier in the topic. I run Nationals or Moog which are still made in North America last time I ordered them.

I recently ordered Timken rear hubs to my daily driver, let's see how long they last.
If it would had been my white car, I'd bough the SKF set, more expensive but most likely the best there is.

The AC-Delco ones I installed to front, in 2009, have some play now but not totally worn out yet.
