Over population. There is something that is never talked about when talking about climate change. Or anything else for that matter. It must not be real. Again I bring awareness(and I hate that term) to this and I still don't have a Nobel Peace prize.

It's almost like the church is controlling things again. Or something that has to do with faith. Guess those guys needed a goat to toss into a volcano to stop the earthquake. Then they wouldn't be in trouble. "Well you did all you could, so we forgive you" is all that you would hear.
Funny story: There was a good size earthquake in Oklahoma not that long ago. I said "hey we may get a jolt up here". I got a look like I was brain dead. We got a small tremor, followed by a "I didn't think there were any fault lines in Kansas or one that could be connected to another fault".

But yesterday was a reminder of stupid’s golden era, when an Italian court sentenced six scientists and a government official to six years in prison on manslaughter charges
i'm sorry but  seriously.

I heard "This is going to make it VERY difficult for Italy to gain any notable scientists to work in its country".

And I concur, that is some of the dumbest crap I have ever heard. The article I read had numerous other scientists and scientific organizations defending everything that these Italians did saying it was the completely correct course of action and they would have done the same thing in telling people there was nothing to fear.

Next time it hails on my car, I'm suing the weatherman.

reminds me of this:

And I agree with Styluss. If these scientists are convicted the weathermen around here should be set on fire.

AMEN! LOL

When I heard the world had reached over 7 Billion, I was absolutely floored. I remember around the turn of the century we had reached the 5 Billion milestone and that seemed excessive. Considering we were under 1 Billion for most of human history and then in the last 100-150 years we have clearly outgrown the planet.

Plus, just look at China and India's policy on emissions, especially India. Which goes to show you why the entire world is feeling the effects of Greenhouse gases. They have no rules on the roads in India and most of the vehicle traffic is 3 wheeled taxi's running crappy 3rd world 2-stroke motors with no emissions equipment.

Those 2 countries combined make up more than 1/4 of the entire worlds population. At least China have been reducing their birth numbers...

My shop only has radio and this area only gets 3 stations. I tend to listen to the Canadian equivalent of NPR, which has been lit up with talk over the Italian verdict.

The only saving grace is that there will be an appeal, they can postpone their sentences, make bail and fight it out until the government starts thinking again. The scientific community the world over have jumped up to fight this. The only problem is finding the money to fight as long as it takes.

And bible thumping crazies over here keep thumping their wives and popping them out by the teens because they think that's their purpose and don't believe in any of this science crap... The human race and its beliefs is it's own worse enemy...
