Re: Cruise Control - Vac To Elec?
Wouldn't a functional trans compliment that cruise though?

Re: Cruise Control - Vac To Elec?
Truck cruise swap is done. Should be functional, but I won't know for sure until I test it. The truck units have self-drilling screws that make mounting easy. The plug in is the same, but the cable is different - at both ends - so you can't just swap the Beretta cable on. After some digging, I did see from pictures that a 3.4L Camaro cable should work with the truck unit and 3x00 throttle bracket. Once I got it in hand I found out the connector is a little bigger than the Beretta one, but about 2 minutes with the die grinder on the bracket fixed it.
So here we have a mid-90s truck cruise unit (without the H pin), 3.4L Camaro cable and 95 Beretta harness wired in with no wiring to the computer. 100% standalone. Going to do the same with my Camaro as long as it works nicely.
Truck left, Beretta right

Beretta top, Camaro middle, truck bottom

Camaro cable installed

Re: Cruise Control - Vac To Elec?
Did you actually try to connect the cruse to the ECU at all? I still feel that you can swap to the electric style in some way on a pre 94 car... But we would have to scan the H pin signal to see what it is putting out, yes as noted on the camaro boards some have a weird pulse signal but I'm sure there is something similar coming from a pre 94 ECU because those had cruise modules too and had similar restrictions as to how the option would work or when it would work.

Jon, there is nothing to connect it to. That's the whole point of this. I looked at the entire pinout for the ECM and there was nothing. My 91 came factory equipped with the vacuum cruise and there was no connection to the ECM. I believe the failsafe for it was the vacuum signal itself.

Re: Cruise Control - Vac To Elec?
Still doesn't mean that that its not just a simple ground signal, no one even tested that. It may not be as complicated as what the Camaro guys were messing with that's all I'm trying to say. Sorry I just don't feel that all the options were extinguished with our stock setups quite yet, but maybe that's just me.
Is this the PN of our units? The part# 25315091 (found on 99-up F-body cars) @ about 20 mph needs to see a bunch of grounding signals spaced on/off at different rates to operate on the first attempt from key on

Re: Cruise Control - Vac To Elec?
Who has a diagram for a 95 gauge cluster? I think I had one at some point that Jon sent me, but I can't find it. I want to wire in the "Cruise" dash light. My diagram for the 91 does not show a cruise light, but I have a 95 cluster in my car, so it should be as simple as adding a pin if I know what location it is at. It's hard to follow the printed circuit on the cluster.

Nvm...pulled all the cluster bulbs out and there isn't one for cruise anyway...I must be thinking of the truck I guess. Been a while since I drove the 95. haha
Cruise works though, ready for the 24hr trip to Denver.
