Thinking dome light as was suggested.
Doesn't take much to disturb a 20+year old connection.
Worth another try.
Good luck

well i found what i think is the problem. while putting the visor back in one of the screws cut into the brown wire leading to the mirror. i'm assuming that it shorted light dome and mirror lights. is there a way to fix it or did i just get "screwed" :D

i put a motion activated led pucklight that even redknecked up doesnt look half bad. at least until i figure out what to do.....

probably should have been a little clearer.

do i splice and crimp or will have to replace the wires, mirror, and dome assembly? i have a healthy fear of electricity and dont want to make matters worse by taking the wrong route.

I'm actually surprised the fuse didn't blow.
I'd try just re-wrapping the wire, making sure it's clear of any more screws and see what happens.
Bulbs may be toast, but other than that you should be OK.
It's only 12 volts. Can't hurt you.

Should be fine, the PO of my car ran a screw through the dome light wires, and all I had to do was tape the wire up and it was all good.

You sure it didn't blow a fuse? Really weird if it didn't.

i checked things out this morning and found a screw had indeed clipped a wire and peeled back the rubber. i spliced and crimped it hoping that would work after i tried the taping it off procedure. neither of the two changed anything. no dome, no mirror, and no floor lights. all the fuses were good %)
