Got a good deal on Cobalt seats from A&P Auto from car-part.com. Unfortunately, they have their heads up their asses. The fronts do not have the stitched "SS" and they lost the rear seat between last week when I bought it over the phone and today when I drove 2+ hours there to pick them up. Fuckers. So they refunded me for the rear and I'll have to find another one somewhere. They look nice though, and they are super comfortable.

It gets even better! I searched car-part.com myself and found a black leather back seat in Syracuse and Albany. They searched their computer and said the closest one was in Virginia. Dipshits.

I'll post more pics when I get the back ones.

Are you planning on mounting them to the Beretta seat framing, or just mounting them as-is?

Probably as-is. I will know better once I get in to it though. I may even have to do some floor surgery to get them to sit right. I'm sure there will be fab work involved to get the rear Cobalt seats mounted.

The outside seat rail next to the rocker sits nicely. The inside rail by the console either needs floor surgery, or the entire seat needs to come up. I'll try that out first, but I'll bet it brings the seat too high.

Got the Camaro put away for the winter last night, so I actually have some room to work on this thing now. Projects for the winter in order of priority consist of:

5spd
Cruise control
Neon rear disc
Interior work (leather seats & shift boot, new Cobalt/Monte Carlo hybrid seat belts)
Exterior work (mirror & window trim refinishing)

Good luck with the 5 speed. What're your plans? Rebuild or swap your LSD into a "new" one?

If it is something simple like a broken shift fork, I am going to use my 5spd. If the internals look ugly, I'll have to use one of my two spares. I don't know the history on the spares though, and mine shifted nice & smooth so I'm hoping I can reuse it.

Solved my cruise control last night so I should be all good to go when the new cable gets here. I'll post details in the cruise retrofit thread.

I was going to suggest Impala SS seats out of the 06-09 models. They are the most comfortable seat I've ever sat in.

The Cobalt seats fit perfect width-wise between the console and rocker. They are a little bit taller comparing them outside of the car with Beretta seats, but I think that's because of the difference in seat mounting. Mounting them to clear the cat converter bulge in the floor will definitely mount them higher, and probably too high.

The seats are not as high as I expected. The bottom cushion is about 3/4" higher in back and 1.5" in front. I'm not sure cutting the floor will be needed. I'm going to fab up some temporary brackets to bolt them in and play with the slider, etc. If I like it I'll run them as-is...if the extra height is a problem I'll just cut the floor as planned.
