Anyone with DAYTONA rear disk brakes?

Want some new struts? What brand springs to buy? How much camber to run? What brake pads? What's the best setup for your situation....

Um its kinda obvious...

Look at where mine go in and where his go in... My cables enter at an angle and are further inboard... his are 100% parallel to the rotor and further away. It's the angle difference that screwes it up.

Also everyone has their personal opinion as I noted I hate the placement of the caliper when using the Daytona brackets, so I'll deal with the metal backing plate to eliminate that. Also both brackets are sufficently strong enough to complete the task we are asking of them... Without a full brake rebuild M/C and all, I really don't think we are asking much of them back there, especially if you compliment this upgrade with 11" fronts as it should be.

Well im only saying about the cables because us jbody guys are using our stock cables with both the neon and daytona swaps and they work perfectlly fine, And the reason his are machined with the caliper in the downward position and not in to normal "up" is cause my guy was being a dick when he did them and did not listen and did them his own way, They would have been done like then neons and would have required him to grind into his axle though which would have been no biggie, My vented rotor brackets are machined like the neons and will grind into the axle to have the position correct.

http://www.v6z24.com/registry/chronos/ He did it on v6 and used the stock cables and had them machined the same way slinky's were done

Well simple answer to that is the 95+ Beretta uses a different cable than the 93 Cavalier...

Our whole axle changed in 95 hence the reason why springs from a 94 wont work on a 95+ car.

So if this dude is trying to do this with a 95 axle, Jon would my 90 axle and cables be okay with the daytona bracket or not sure?

I have no idea... cross reference your brake cables with those of the ones Alpinestar is speaking of... If they are the same cables on the Cavaliers that are working then I guess it would be ok... But either way I look at it, if you move the caliper location on a Dayton bracket then that would TOTALLY change where the ebrake cable goes in and there for completely null the who fitment deal and you would need 100% custom cables.

Until Alpine posts up some pics of these cavi's using stock cables with the caliper location not below 9 or 3'oclock then I think its just confusion of words due to lack of description through a website.

Are yours machined like slinky's? or the way they are meant to be done?

I'm telling you, if you machine them in any other way than the way Slinky's are then you will NEVER be able to use stock e-brake cables. So to be honest I cant see how you can call that "the way they are meant to be done"

Well maybe its just different then on a cavalier but two guys on v6 have done it that way and are running the stock cables, Im not trying to start a pissing match, Theyre are two ways to machine the brackets for the daytona's One way is the way slicky has them where the left bracket is flipped upsidedown and used on the right hand side and the other way is to grind into your axles and have the brake hump on bottom and use either neon or stock cables. Ill get pics of my vented daytonas that are machined the other way
