Just remember to cut out the lip of your fender well... IIRC you were hitting that on the fronts right Cliff?

There used be a ton of those around here and most of them had hilariously bent axles – It was fun watching them wobble down the road

The tire installer seriously must cuss them out when they have to get these things seated.... Its hard enough sometimes to seat one of our race car tires on a 7" wide rim, and when we tested the 8's it was even harder. I have no idea how they stretch the sidewall to reach that lip.

When I started driving it was cool to have a set of 235/245's on whatever rim you could fit, but now its cool to mount up some 195's on an 9" wide rim.... LOL

what size profile you did you have/have on the 18's...im currently riding 18's as well...just sucks about my car that i had to use adapters since the bolt pattern was different..anyways im rolling on 245/45

speaking in terms of a 16" rim size 235-245 doesn't look bad. if i decide to stick with the 16 Grand prix cross lace with are 16x8 i was going to go with the 245/50-16 size which fits the wheel good. 225 doesn't look bad on the 16x8 either.

but as far as this crap goes if i was the tire installer and saw this kid walk in with rims that size and then puny tires to go on them i'd be like yeah ok buddy see ya later.

i've seen that done and it's usually to reseat the bead in an emergency.

They have a 20lb propane tank at the race track that they fill with compressed air and then there is a HUGE ball valve on the top of it that goes to a flattened duckbill type outlet, they rest that on the edge of the 13" wide modified tire rims and open the valve and the rush of air going into the rim and up behind the tire is enough to seat the bead... Works well and no one looses and eyebrow. LOL
