Anything and everything you'd ever want to know about quads has been asked and answered before. It's all there if you use a forum search or google.

The purple color is call Black Rose Metallic. Quad 4 Z26's are rare in general with only 896 made. If I recall, just over 200 of those 896 were made in the purple color. As far as I know, all the purple ones had grey interior as well..

Need to know anything quad related, just ask! I know too much! lol

Actually you will loose lope from a non tuned car with a big cam vs a tuned one with the same cam, the lope is exaggerated from the poor tune and once fixed the car will run a bit smoother but typically wont all go away.

I know mine changed a lot once I got my tune better, but since my cam is so radical its hard to make it "go away" lol.

V6 cars a more easilly modified... there's just so many more applications that the parts can be used for... you're talking about an engine that was practically the same from the early 80's until 2006 or whenever they stopped making the 3500's... vs an engine from 88 until 94, or early 2000's if you include the Twin Cam...

I've found that to be the case with my GTU build, much more to work with.

This doesn't mean that I fully support and stand behind a Quad build ; )... They're always gonna be more unique and fun I think...

Interesting. I don't recall any coming up on Compnine from the factory with anything but the 14G RPO for interior with the 73U exterior paint code. If it was stock, coolbeans!

Talk to Ron for a header...IF u plan to stay all motor.

Look into increasing the compression with aftermarket pistons...IF u plan to stay all motor.

As for an intake manifold...the stock one is fine...only downside to it is its heavy. Only upgrade for it would be a phenolic spacer to help reduce temps.

Big cams, high compression, fully built internals, good ported 086, good flowing exhaust, and a good tune will get u wat ur looking for.

But as stated earlier Quads love boost...so boosting a quad will make ur chevelle look like a chevy aveo lol

Yeah scd88ga I believe your right, all BRM berettas had grey interiors. Bases or Z's.
But to the OP, yes as he said they are rare, and if you find one that's not rusted, pick it up! I found one last year, and it was in great shape body wise, but the Q4 needed to be rebuilt, and I know nobody around here who can do it right, so I passed it up. The one your looking at may be the same one. Whats the mileage on her? The one I looked at last year had 154k on it, and like I said, it was a 100% rust free body. Just had rusted and shot rear struts (not the towers), and a cracked head and a DIY exhaust, and deleted A/C.
Hell, if you pick it up, and it indeed is the same one, I may be interested in it very soon. PM me with details about that car please. I regret not buying it.
Also I think I seen in another topic that you posted, you found a 96 Z26 in a JY, that was clean underneath, I'd like to know what yard that was in, and if you can pull and sell parts, I may also be interested in them sometime very soon. Sorry for the off topic, but 1995berettaz-26man hit me up via PM, and give me some info on those things if you could.
Thanks.

Out of the few dozen engines I've built, the quads are super easy!!! I rebuilt my own and it's got 15k on it so far! ;)

did you rebuild it wiht all the good parts? sometimes that is what the hardest part is. I remember when I had a 90 GTZ i couldnt find a double roller timing chain cover to save my life.

Yes, I used all the good parts, clevite, melling, fel-pro, etc... My block, pistons, and cams are the originals. Used a 19k donor motor for the crank, rods and 086 head. Mine is a 94, so it's a single roller chain. I can the older get double roller stuff, but it's heavier and not any stronger.

hey I got a fuel rail with 4 ohm and balanced injector (3years ago, never got installed) If you want it, just PM me. I know Quad4 injectors are kinda sensitive compared to the 3x00 ones.
