oil pressure sensor use

I bought an oil pressure sensor 5 years ago or so, part GM#12555492. I originally bought it in hopes of putting it on a '92. Well, now I would like to use it on my '89 Beretta, but the part numbers are different. Also, I saw that the part number I listed was good from '90-'95.

So...
Will this work for my '89 2.8?

Rock Auto has an oil pressure gauge sending unit for $14, so if you are going to do this job, use the right part (not bad, as I think I paid a lot more at Advance). I needed to remove the cast metal oil filter angled piece to get enough room to work on it (needed to buy a gasket when I reinstalled this piece). Advance did not have an oil pressure sensor socket that fits this, so I ended up using channel lock pliers to take it off.

damn, you had to take the oil filter adapter off to change your oil pressure sensor? that sucks! I only took mine off when I did my 3400 swap, I'v been able to change the sensor without removing the adapter.

Leaving it be for now. I have bigger issues to worry about with the Beretta

On my 89 GT 2.8L, I did, which is why I pointed it out to the OP. I think if there was an oil pressure sensor socket that fit the sensor, you would not need to remove the oil filter adapter, but for me using Channel Lock pliers, it was the only solution for gaining enough room to get a bite on the sensor.
