Just pull straight off.

do i have to pull any pins or clips or anything, because when i pulled up on it nothing happened, i'm not sure if i'm doing something wrong or if i missed a step or what

No clips or anything, you just need to use ape's rage to pull it up

It will slide back on. Like weba said you have to pull really hard to get it off. just be sure not to hit your mirror or youself. it usually comes off pretty suddenly

Brace your back against the headliner with a foot on either side of the console and put your legs into it.  It'll come off.

what size knob can replace the stock one? and can it be threaded?
