E-brake cable
E-brake cable
Is there a special way to pop the e-brake cable back on the rear drum brakes for a beretta. No matter what i do i can't get it on, and i really need my e-brake to work.
Thanks for the help.

Because cars tend to pop out of gear from time to time Speedy. I too rely heavily on my E-brake though it HAS failed me one time.

I do put it in gear, but my driveway is on a slope . So i like to start it then pull the e-brake while it warms up for a minute.

Usually when removing or re-installing an E-brake cable it's best to hook it up with the shoes off first, then reinstall all components. Easiest way I know bro. GL.

I know what your saying, I tried to but i couldn't get the spring to compress enough to pop it back on.

I park mine with the ebrake on and the tranny in reverse, always. And when you dont use the ebrake, someone puts your front wheels on casters and rolls your SH$% away. hahaha

Best advice I can give is to make sure the shoes are all off and just muscle it... At least that is what I did on my '91 GA. Another potential solution (what I was about to try before I went and manhandled it) would be to disconnect the cable up by the handle inside the car. Might give it enough travel. Good luck!

Thanks everyone for the advice. But i gave in and to it to the shop and got all new rear brakes FTW. I was just gonna switch over from my 90 gt parts car but they were just as bad. But my car stops on a dime now, and with your guys help i know how to do it my self in the future.
