Anyone Running Remote Oil Filters?

Post by Koots »

I always hated where the 2.2's oil filter was and was thinking of running a single or dual remote setup. Anyone got any advice on which ones to look into or to stay away from?

The only reason I'm hesitant is because of how much leaking you can get from factory adapters for remote oil coolers. So I was weary of just buying the cheapest one I could find.

At least its not where the S10 body trucks and the like were. Had to reach in from the driver's side tire to get at them. Or the later ones that were remote and leaked all the hell over everything.

I wouldn't recommend one, but that's me.

The OEM oil cooler in my truck was fine. When I had it all apart I figured I'd replace it for good measure and it blew oil everywhere. So I plugged it. I'm sure you could build a decent one with AN hose, but you're gonna be talking some bucks.
