Another quad 4 question
So I was at a junkyard with a bunch of grand ams and a few berettas and achievas but was wondering if the 95 dohc are worth picking up and if the 94 and previous SOHC are worth getting, and what all do you have to do to make a SOHC a DOHC, and there's a bunch and I mean a bunch of 2.4L if anyone needs parts

Re: Another quad 4 question
Avoid the 1995 engine. This was a transition year for the Quad4 and it has balance shafts.
As for the SOHC engines... aside from the head/cams, the only difference is the pistons themselves. The blocks are identical. There are a LOT of similar parts (brackets, starter, accessories, pulleys, engine mounts) between the SOHC and DOHC Quad4s. I got really familiar with a couple at the local PullAPart this past weekend when I had to hunt down a new fuel injector rail.

Re: Another quad 4 question
They discontinued the venom fuel rail a few years ago. Would love to have one myselfspeedy wrote:i seen a venom fuel rail in a quad 4 once, would be cool to have but im not sure if they make them???? and 90 to 94 dohc quad 4 is what you want.

Re: Another quad 4 question
yeah, i dont know that there would be a gain in performance, but it would certainly look cool as hell.
