Aftermarket door handle

Post by jamaicanbob »

I installed my non-oem door handle today and it works, but the handle part doesn't sit flush with the door.

As you can see, if I push on it hard, it will stay flush like its supposed to. There is a very small gap between the large metal square and the door frame.

Has anyone else had this problem or have a suggestion on how to fix?? On a side note, the long black piece was not curved like the door, so I hope those weak nuts will hold and bend it over time!

I got them from a Bstuff member (gordo2dope) and they are labeled Beretta on the box.

Well the long black assembly fits on there... Its just the actual handle that you pull that won't sit flush. Its like that silver metal square needs to go back some more but I don't know how to put force on it to do so.. I knew I should've bought OEM but I got a new pair for $30 versus one used for $25..

The reason it's not sitting right is the bolt that holds the keeper for the lock Cyl. Either cut the threads down, get a shorter bolt or put a washer or 2 on the nut so the threads dont go in as far

If you're talking about the one bolt that holds the lock cylinder in, I don't think that has anything to do with it.. You can take the lock cylinder totally out and it won't make a difference.

I went out in the cold and messed with it again, I think it is just a design flaw or something. The handle sits flush when the entire piece is straight, but when you bend it to form it to the door, the handle pops out. I think I am just SOL?

You can see when I bend it the handle pops back out.

There is like a lead weight on the bottom (part inside the door when installed.) For some reason it is installed backwards on the after market ones. Drill it out and flip it around and it will sit flush.
