Spark plugs

Post by jtcoolhands »

Hey all just new to the site and have a question maybe someone could help me with. Last year I bought a 1990 Beretta with the 3.1 ltr. I need to replace the spark plugs but not sure what the gap is, as the car came without the owner's manual. Also what plugs will perform the best  Platinum or Titanium head

Spark plugs

Post by Jeff P »

Hey, welcome to the board The plugs on your 3.1L should be gapped to 0.045" and you should stick with non-platinum plugs because your ignition system may burn them up.  I've heard good things about Iridium plugs (and the ones in my Bonneville are great), and lots of people use ACDelco Rapidfire #6.  NGK is good.  Stay away from SplitFire and Bosch +4.  I don't have any info on Titanium plugs.
