engine mounts?
man... though this should be simple im having difficutlies with it... is there a easy way.. im having to use my stepdad's tools in his messy garage and i cant much... so what all am i going to need before i spend half the day looking for stuff?  i'm doing the motor mounts that are on pass side the front and bottom rear mount. I already got the front one in but having trouble with the bottom rear mount getting to the back 2 bolts that hold the mount onto the engine... i tried coming at it from the top and reachng down but i cant get anything on the bolts and I dont think there is any reaching 360 degrees around the mount to get to the bolts ( this is a 88 gt with a 2.8 v6) i know the bolts are 1/2 (or 13mm) ... Any sugestions?

10, 13, and 15mm sockets & deepwall sockets... 3/8 drive ratchet, extension (3" should do), maybe a swivel joint...

all i have to say that is the fun one.

I think I always do that rear one from under the car with the car supported on jackstands, and a jack supporting the oil pan (using a 2x4 so it doesn't dent) to keep the engine in place.

Im done with the motor mounts, doing the intake gasket now... I broke the plastic peice that connects the downshift cable to the throttle body... so now i gotta fix that dam thing and I broke 2 of those vacume lines that blugs into the Upper part of the intake where the throttle body is.. U know where I can get those? they all plug into this one plug that hooks up to the intake.... then they branch off to other places (one line is the Egr vacume line) but that one isnt broke.. oh and yall have any idea what that cable connects to inside the transmission that downshifts the car when u punch the gas? (the cable end that i broke) and how hard it is to fix it?

you have to replace the cable, do not and i mean do not waste your time with an aftermarket one nothing but a waste of money. Go to a GM parts dealer and get a new throttle Detent TV cable from the TB to the tranny they are about 60 bucks and you cannot replace the ends i busted mine and i finally bought a new one. As far as the Vac lines just replace them with rubber ones from autozone or napa or if you could get some intact ones from a junker.

why cant u replace the end? All I would have to do is get the end from junkyard and put onm mine then crimp a cable end at the end (says my stepdad) so it stays ... I dont want to go taking the cable out of the tranny if i dont know what it is connected to inside there.

if you can replace the end all the more power to ya. But from my experience how are you going to get the crimp off the cable on your car without destroying it?
engine mounts?
well i was gonna cut the cable right behind the crimp.. I know it will make it a tad shorter but it shouldnt effect the downshifting THAT much.. my stepdad told me that all that was on the end was a cable end crimped on there he said we can make something work.. so ill keep ya posted on how we do this just in case this happens to someone else on here you will know what to do

You can still get that vacuum line assembly as of 2 years ago, but it was pricey. You can only buy all the tubing, grommets, etc. TOGETHER.
Get some small rubber vacuum tubing from the parts store that will fit your lines and put it back together... ÂÂÂ
