If your headlights and marker lights don't work, it is possible that you need a new headlight switch.  If it is just your headlights, you may need a new dimmer switch which is located on the steering column under the dashboard.  As far as the turn signals, the flasher could be bad or the multifunction switch (inside the steering column) could be bad.  OR...the bulbs could all be burned out.  Do the turn signal arrows by your speedometer still flash?  Is it just the outside lights that don't work, or the ones inside the car too?

The overheating could be caused by a bad thermostat (stuck closed), a bad water pump, or too much or not enough water in the coolant.  When you check the oil, does it look dark or like chocolate milk?  Is there condensation under the oil filler cap?

Don't mean to throw a lot at you, just doing my best to diagnose from the desk

Oh, and I assume you're referring to water leaks inside the car when you say flooding?  If that's the case, it seems that all years of Berettas suffer from water leaks.  Maybe not at first, but once sealer starts to dry out, etc.  '93 is no exception

(Jeff P @ May 17 2007,00:26)QUOTE
Hi thanks for willing to help me out...

Okay here is some more information....
I guess I wasnt specific when I said my lights dont work... oops

Okay all my lights (bulbs) work expcept for the turning signals...

I will try and replace the bulbs and if not I guess take the next option...

Now the other lights that dont work are the things that light up on your dashboard... example to let you know you have no gas left the little orange should pop up... but nothing works on the dashboard only when I put my emergency brake on and the "ABS" light comes on...

As for the leaking I have decided to get over it... just sucks becuase during Hurricane Season (I live in Miami, Florida) ALOT water gets in but whatever I found a great vacuum to suck it all up...

Okay now for the over heating

Does a thermostat cost alot to replace??

I think the water pump is okay... because I am 99.9% sure that is the hose I replaced once...

And I check the water evrey week and put more water but mostly coolant in there...

Okay now about the oil... I think it looks in the middle or dark but not as light as chocolate milk...

And under the cap...  I would have to check that out...

And what would condensation under the oil cap mean!!

And THANKS IN ADVANCE

condensation under the oil cap means it looks kinda like pudding has formed under the cap.
that happens when the engine has'nt really had a chance to fully warm up...which happens alot on my car(got a 180*F thermostat).

the water leak in the beretta's also apllies to grand am's, skylarks, achievas.
what could be going on is if you use your a/c and leave it in the same function the fresh air vent door is left open.
and the black thing that is under your wipers there's a seal and when that wear's off water can get in.

the thermostat could be stuck closed.

It's very possible that several of the small bulbs in your instrument cluster are burned out.  I'm not sure which warning lights your '93 should have, but here are the ones I can think of:  Inflatable Restraint, ABS, Brake, Service Engine Soon, Low Coolant, Fasten Seatbelt, and maybe a couple others.  Do the speedometer, etc. at least light up at night when you turn on the headlights?

The thermostat itself costs less than $10 and may or may not come with a gasket (which you need).  Yours is a 195-degree thermostat.  It is very simple to change.  There is a hose leaving the driver's side top of the radiator, and it leads to a metal cap at the top of the engine.  The cap is the thermostat housing.  Remove two bolts, lift the housing, and the thermostat pulls right out.  You'll get some coolant spillage, but not a ton.  Anyway, hope that helps and sorry for the delay.
