Quad 4 lower end needed

Post by quad4berettagtz »

Hey gang,

I'm looking for a good lower end of a Quad 4.  I spun at least one rod bearing on my autox car, and if I can find a good used crank that hasn't had spun bearing(s) on it that would possibly be the cheaper route for me.  I would be interested in it if its parted out, if its just the block, or even for the right price the whole engine.  Mileage makes for negotiation.  ONLY serious offers here.  Thanks!

I do have a block with crank, rods, pistons... although I don't know the history of it.  It spins freely.  There is also a guy on the Q4forum with a pretty decent deal for what you're asking.

I'll have to actually read my fourum emails

Do you know if yours was a HO or LO, and can you see easily the lower end?  You would be able to easily pull off those caps and check the bearings- if they are good maybe we could work something out.

It is suppose to be a HO since it did come out of a 90Z.  I could pull a cap and see, but it'll be a week before I can get to it (Kinda buried in the corner).   Make sure you check with Nbodyracer (I think that's his SN) over on the Qforum since he knows the condition of his parts better then I do mine.

Are you talking about the engine  from "our" Garnet car... The one I painted before I put it in?  That was an LO Quad with an 086 head from a Grand Am.

No, it is from my previous GTZ that I had purchased for parts.

That block from the garnet was... how do you say...  ####ed.

Mike I know where there is a running motor/bottom end.   Its still in a car in a junkyard that is shutdown but I got a hold of the guy and he said he'd sell the whole car to me but he has to sell it to me before this ex-junkyard gets sold so hurry up and get back to me about it.  Car is a 1994 Quad Z26 with 123,XXX pm ot, its smashed on the drivers side and the guy told me he drove it back to where its sitting right now.  I could probably throw some fresh gas in it and drive it home.

Devon- How much is he talking for the whole car?!  If the price is right I would put in towards this, but if I had the choice I'd rather not pull out the crank (or engine) twice.  Find out what he is thinking for it price wise and go from there?
