Car was and is filthy because its been freezing outside so i cant wash it. Paint is pretty much perfect just needs waxed. No peeling/scratches/chips or anything








Floors and rockers are all in the practically perfect shape of the trunk floor:




more pics to come. dash is perfect except a bit of warp around the defrost vent but otherwise perfect interior is extremely nice other than a sagging (but unripped and unstained) headliner.

Quad 4 HO 5 speed (don't know if they offered the 3.1/auto in 90) and yes i realize the wrong wheels

I've got a question for the quad owners. When does your power seem to "kick in"? At about 3000rpms it feels like it kicks you in the gut with power (and everything I've read says around 5200-5500rpms is when it should wake up??) and revs very very quick to its redline. It'll even chirp 2nd and 3rd at around 3/4s throttle.

I have no clue if it had work done to it internally. I know the head is brand new but no idea if it ever had internal work. Only thing I know of that isnt stock is it has a "condensator" or something like that on the firewall hooked up.

Getting to the meat of the torque curve, you are thinking about HP. Any thoughts about Ron's header?
Get on that rust ASAP!

Coming from a v6 MPFI then going to the I4 Quad will make you think that's what is happening when really the power band is the said 5K+ RPM's. It might be high 4000 R's but its def not low s you think it is. Additionally, the tach is not all that accurate for most older GM vehicles and will give off false readings. So factor that in too.

Yeah especially since I went from a 2.8/Auto to a Quad 4/5 Speed.

Gauges all seem very accurate even the gas gauge is shockingly right on the spot.

Everyone that has rode in it or driven it says it's extremely strong and shocking. everyone (including people we know who drag race) says it honestly feels like it should run 14.8s-14.9s (around what they ran from factory? or was that the 92's with better gearing?). Either way it's leaps and bounds above the 2.8 performance wise lol.

Is the stock airbox as restrictive and shitty as it looks? Is a CAI/WAI a worthwhile "upgrade"? Even a short-ram/WAI looks like it would be much better than the horrible airbox setup.

Any worthwhile cheapish "upgrades"/changes that are a must have for the Quads?

Why yes it is. Almost any upgrade will help! The problem is finding a CAI or WAI.

I don't imagine it would be too hard for me to make a CAI and the WAI should be insanely easy. Should I just move the battery to the airbox location so the WAI is near the headlight spot/the WAI could be ran into there.

The Quad 4 actually has a torque peak at 3000RPM and then again at 5800RPM, so it does actually feel pretty good all the way around the range. Honestly, I never noticed that it didn't have good power all over the place until I'd race a V6, in 4th gear starting at 30MPH. Then you can see the V6's low end torque advantage.

Reminds me a lot of my first car...white 90 GTZ. Looks like it's in a lot better shape than mine was though.

Stock GTZ's run the 15.5 range I do believe. I never heard of one doing 14s without mods.
