Passenger Side Power Door Lock
Does somebody have any idea on why the passenger side door power lock wont lock? It will lock/unlock with the key. It will unlock with power lock button on both doors. It wont lock on when using the button from either door. It moves little then stops. I can manually lock it by sliding but its catches. After forcing it past where it catches it will slide over all the way. Is this sign of a bad power actuator?

I would try taking out the two screws on the door basil and that manual hand lock under the door basil which pops off toward you and wiggling the connections on the back of the door lock, and also check your fuses

Door bezel that has the door handle on it is new because the door handle was broken. It did it when the outside door handle was broken. I had door the panel enough to see if I could find wrong and came with nothing. I tried wiggling every rod, lever in side the door.

Also the door only locks when using the key. Will not lock when sliding the lock over to lock position on the door.

Remove the door panel, adjust move and check the rods that control the lock... Something is not in the right position.

Re: Passenger Side Power Door Lock
I already took the door panel off but didnt take the handle or lock slider off the rod. Is there a easy way to remove the inside door handle and lock slider piece?

Re: Passenger Side Power Door Lock
The slider should only be clipped on to the handle assy, but that itself is pop riveted to the door IIRC... It's not easy to see but with the panel off you should be able to see where the internal locking rod is going to ensure it's working properly.

Re: Passenger Side Power Door Lock
I was playing with mine to see if I could fix the power door locks today. Works via the lever in the door handle and via key. The actuators work, but do not move the lock rod enough to lock/unlock. Take a look at the extended/retracted positions...do they look about right? I'm thinking the problem may be in the bushing.

Re: Passenger Side Power Door Lock
So, I sleeved the bushing with a piece of vacuum hose and the fit is nice and snug. I also lubed the lock rod so that it moves more freely by hand. The actuators still do not move the lock rod enough to lock/unlock. Could the actuators just be getting weak in old age?
