89 GT for Sale + Parts Car - North Jersey 07461 - - $800obo

Package deal - No Parts at this time
89 GT White/blue int. with '90 3.1 running + 90 GT no motor Black/gray int.

My circumstances have changed and I am not going to be able to restore my Beretta. After 15 years, I am going to have to cut this car loose. It’s white with a blue interior. The trunk has a luggage rack.

It’s an ’89, but I swapped in a 3.1 from a ’90. I do good work, mechanically, and the engine swap included a timing chain, head gaskets, a bunch of other gaskets, and most of the sensors. I have maintained the motor- changing fluids at regular intervals. It has a new steering rack, among other things. You’ll find the bolts are not rusted to oblivion, and that it is easy to work on. It runs great. New starter, good battery, nothing is duct taped or “good enough” in the engine compartment. The only real modification is the K&N filter with maybe 10k miles on it. The exhaust is in great shape, with a new cat converter. It could probably use coils, but the electronic distributor they mount to is new. This car has almost 200,000 miles on it.

I have put a lot of money into the air conditioning (not that it helped, LOL). I bought a new low pressure sensor, but haven’t installed it yet. Once that is in, the only one remaining will be the high pressure sensor. It has a new compressor, accumulator, bypass valve, condenser, and a clean evaporator. So that is a pretty good selling point. It holds a vacuum, so no leaks. A near total overhaul, you can imagine what that cost me… I expect the low pressure sensor to make all the difference.

The tires have a lot of miles left on them, the brakes have been maintained, and it does not leak water into the cabin.

The problems are pretty typical from there. The paint is shot, but only minor rust. The trim is getting a bit rough. The interior is old, but not filthy. The head liner is falling down, seats are getting a bit threadbare, warped dash, etc. The suspension is in need of an overhaul: struts, shocks, bushings, but it hasn’t been whacked or anything, so it isn’t that bad. I have a Z51 rear sway bar that wasn’t installed. The master cylinder should be replaced soon, but I bought one already, so there you go.

I’ve got a bunch of spare parts: alternators, manifolds, throttle body, wheels, all kinds of stuff. I have a set of vent shades to go on the doors NIB. What’s more, I still have the 1990 GT: black/gray with gray interior, still rolling (the rocker panel gave up on me). That is missing a motor, but has everything else, such as it is. I am sure I am leaving a lot of things out, but I do have a notebook containing notes about when and at what mileage I made repairs and replacements. That should be some help.

I want the parts car to go along with the running GT or to another enthusiast- not to the junk yard to be melted down for scrap and sent to China.
So, a running car with title, and the parts car with a title, and all the parts- $800. Nearly a full tank in the white one. I am not willing to part anything out at this time, and the running car doesn’t go until the black parts car has a home. If there are no takers, I will just wait. The important thing to me is that this goes to an enthusiast and gets some attention instead of sitting in my yard all winter.

PM me with any offers. Pictures will be coming soon.
