Rear tail light center

Does anyone know if the center part between the tail lights changed over the years. I am looking to replace mine and I found one but it says 1994 to 1996. I have a 1990 GTZ I am restoring

The 87-93 versions are transparent and look like an extension of the tail lamps while the 94-96 are gloss black. The later style is not susceptible to visible water intrusion like the older ones.
