Probably not a good idea as people don't like to be forced to register for sites. I usually go somewhere else if I HAVE to register to read one article,etc. On the OTHER hand , if I keep going back and I wasn't forced to register to read in the first place , I usually register because I obviously have use for it if I keep making return visits.
